Yves Saint Laurent's not-so traditional bridal gown in Denver

Could you rock a dark wedding dress? It’s not for the faint of heart or the fashion-fearful. During today’s media preview for Yves Saint Laurent: The Retrospective at the Denver Art Museum, we got up close to this beautiful piece of haute couture. From 1981, the dress is eggplant faille with black silk tulle and a burgundy crown embroidered with beads and sequins. Could this temporary Colorado resident inspire a trend of edgy dresses in the Centennial State? ┬áNot likely. But we’d love to see eggplant accents for fall weddings!
